From Resin to Reflection: A New Chapter with Acrylic Prints

From Resin to Reflection: A New Chapter with Acrylic Prints

For years, resin was my way of expressing everything I loved about the ocean. The way it moved, shimmered, and caught the light felt so alive, just like the sea itself. While living in Honolulu, I completely fell in love with Hawai‘i’s beaches and began painting what I felt: the rhythm of the waves, the colors of the water, and the peace that came from being near it all.

Those resin paintings will always hold a huge place in my heart. They remind me of long studio days in Kakaʻako, learning, experimenting, and creating from pure passion. When I closed that studio in 2021, I knew it was time to pause. I had been creating nonstop for years and needed space to breathe and rediscover why I started painting in the first place.

That time away helped me reconnect with myself as an artist. I began exploring new mediums and slower ways of creating which led me to where I am today. My current work focuses on softer tones and organic forms that reflect the quiet beauty of nature. It feels calm, intentional, and true to who I am now.

Still, those ocean pieces are such a big part of my story. They remind me of that spark that first made me fall in love with art. So I decided to bring them back in a new way.

Introducing Acrylic Prints

These acrylic prints are open edition reproductions of my original resin paintings and they bring that same vibrant ocean-inspired feeling to life. Each piece was professionally scanned and color matched, printed on premium photo paper, and mounted behind glossy 4 mm acrylic glass. This gives the artwork that vivid shine and depth that feels so close to the resin in the originals. They are backed with aluminum Dibond for strength and arrive ready to hang.

To me these pieces are more than just prints. They are a way to share a chapter of my journey that means so much to me. Each one carries the same energy, joy, and aloha that filled my studio in Hawai‘i.

A Journey That Keeps Evolving

My path as an artist has taken me from Atlanta where I was born and raised to Honolulu where I found my voice as an artist and back home again. My time in Hawai‘i changed me forever. It taught me to live with more presence, to create from the heart, and to always stay connected to the beauty around me.

Since then I have been so grateful for how far my art has traveled. It has been featured in USA Today, Modern Luxury Hawai‘i, and Hawai‘i Magazine and is part of Louis Vuitton’s private collection in Waikīkī. My work has appeared on NCIS Hawai‘i and on HGTV’s Tiny Paradise and Renovation Aloha, and it has been shown in galleries and collections across Hawai‘i, Japan, and beyond.

But at the end of the day what means the most to me are the moments of connection my art creates. When someone tells me a painting brings them peace or reminds them of a place they love, that is what it is all about.

A Piece of My Heart

These new acrylic prints are a piece of that journey, a way to honor where I have been while sharing something timeless with you. I hope they bring you the same calm, beauty, and sense of aloha that they bring me.
